REVIEW: Midnight Heat – Chosen by Ant.
Tagline: Nobody steals from the mob and
lives…
Suggested Replacement Tagline: Nobody watches this
and lives a normal life…
Theme: Prince Charming, Candy, Synchronicity
Plot Overview:
A former drug dealer, a cop, a rock video director and
a nightclub owner are all after one million dollars that was stolen
during a drug transaction gone awry.
Rudi’s ramblings:
Poor Adam Ant. If his sanity wasn’t already fragile enough after
his performances in pop videos, he sent himself well and truly over
the edge in this Dennis ‘O’Harper’ Hopper star vehicle.
The signs of a tortured psyche are evident the moment he appears on
screen playing a homosexual cockney film director. His performance is
trumped however by the brilliant as never O’harper as a drug lord.
The headline cast is completed by necrophilia obsessed Michael Pare.
The storyline is as follows: Ex-drug dealer gone straight meets old
friend who’s ripped off his old partner’s money. Old partner
makes him find and return the money etc. Meets old flame etc.
There isn’t much to say about this film due to it being a very
very lightweight “thriller”. Apparently Jan Hammer did the
music but frankly he didn’t try very hard, it sounds like an epileptic
fit crossed with an eighties pop compilation. But forget the actual
film just stare in awe at this list of quality actors that make up the
cast:
Michael Paré
Dennis ‘Oharpé’ Hopper
Adam Ant
Tony Todd
Joe Lara
